a dense red wine originated from Kakheti. This is one of the oldest varieties of dry wines in Georgia. As well as Mukuzani, it is hardly diluted by water. The taste is astringent, long-lasting, rich. One can discern the flavour of smoked prunes and black currant. Saperavi is a perfect wine for meat, and specially pilaw and barbeque.
