In the end of August of 2018 there were announced the results of the international competition “China Wine & Spirits Awards” (CWSA), which has been held in Hong Kong from 2011.
The participants of CWSA were judged by more than 100 recognized local and foreign experts – sommeliers, exporters and distributors. The drinks were evaluated during the blind tasting.
The highest awards (double gold medal) received the wines of “Kartuli Vazi“ range (“Saperavi Budeshuri”, “Kindzmarauli”), and another gold medal went to the wine “Mukuzani”. The blind tasting confirmed the choice of the Chinese consumers: Georgian wines “Kartuli Vazi” are truly the product of the highest class.
Besides the awards (gold, silver, bronze) the participants are rewarded in two nominations. The first one is “Best Value“, and rewarding takes place in spring. The judges take into account the ratio of price and drinks quality. The second nomination – CWSA, rewarding takes place in autumn. The goal of the nomination is to find the wines and alcoholic drinks that will become best sellers and to provide them the recognition of Chinese market.
For many years China enters in top five of the Georgian wines exporters list surely taking the third place. According to Ministry of Environment and Agriculture, for the period January – July of 2018 Georgia had exported in China
3 514 066 bottles of 0,75 L volume of the natural grapes wine.
